Description

Invited by the Kassák Museum Schulz developed a complex installation including painting, film, plants, display and text.

Through different media and the relation of mobility and flexibility it connects to Kassáks approach as a writer, editor and artist of the Hungarian avant-garde.

A white wooden structure developed from the entrance hall into the exhibition room. It displayed the 5 pieces of the large painting „A rush and a push and the land we stand on is ours“ – stretched over the two rooms. In edition you find a formation of little glass paintings: sketches of revisiting the painting and staging some formal ideas. Two different films accompany the whole set; „Konsole“ taken from the large painting in non-documentary macro-style. The second film shows a overloaded boat anchored on a river, not really unveiling if the boat just arrive or is about to leave. This film and the two plants – both migrated into Hungary – add to the general topic of the exhibition: movement as a physical and mental force.
