Description
The new body of work exists of concrete sculptures. The rags are positioned at the interface of painting and sculpture and part of Schulz‘ continuing research on painting in relation to other media.
Textiles are plunged into concrete which has been dyed with real pigment. Still wet they are hanged and the hardening concrete is conserving the shape of the textile. The rags hang in front of the wall or are placed on free standing racks in the room.
The rags are dealing with question of opening and closure, expose and hide as personal and social metaphors.
